*the miss absent-minded award goes to...*

none other than yours truly!!

Sad to say... over the last weekend.. till yesterday... had some hit and miss with lost items..
Christmas Eve.. lost my new MNG jacket which i had not wore it except in the fitting room (and despite that SMRT cabbie driver pride himself that he was a honest guy who would return everything that his passenger had left behind in his cab.. I called the SMRT hotline 5 minutes after leaving the cab.. Guess what... it's still missing till date... Self-praise = no praise)
LOST item no. 1 = my jacket!

Yesterday... I realised that I did not have my card case (in which there were many cards.. credit cards, membership cards, previlege cards & my warrant pass) when i was making payment @ the Isetan sale.. (which by the way.. the crowd at the private sale was scary... like the chinese saying.. people mountian people sea!) .. thank goodness i've my nets card with me.. else.... went home straight after payment (was on one day leave yesterday... heehee) searched high and low in my room but can't find.. well, was prompted that it is in the cabinet at office.. anyway, it was like 3 hours before bs so made a trip down to office... Indeed it was sitting happily in one corner of my cabinet..

hmmm I think i need to make a checklist before i leave a place.. hmmm incidentally.. i kinda like sotong... !

*Service Excellence!*

[Incidentally, this is the title of the course that I'd taken as part of my training hours requirement... ] -- irrelevant

DEspite of the notorious service standard of the service industry in Singapore.. having experienced "excellent" customer service at two F&B outlet had really "blow" my head away.. In both scenario.. I complimented them for their "excellent" service.. Yes.. I did told them "THanks for your excellent service".. Not lying.. but rather to remind them that do treat others what you want others to treat you!

Excellent Service @ the basement resturant in Hereen.. [haha.. what an obvious clue to which restuarant I'm talking about!] ~ 21st Dec 2005
1. The manager (whom he proclaimed to be] doesn't seem to have respect for others. YEs.. the manager.. why? Is it good manners for someone to CUT your sentence, to interrupt you when you are talking to defend himself? Not just once.. ANd rasing his blooming voice just to get his pOint? Mr Manager who was on duty Wed evening DID exactly just that!!

a lil background stOry... about 15-20 of us would be arriving for our appreciation dinner at that place.. but only 5 of us were there earlier... REASOn.. cuz did not make reservation.. (later realised from long whoe arrived later that (A) THE restuarant claimed that NO reservation/ booking of tables DURING this festive period which was contrary to the "oh-it-sound-so-valid" excuse spun by MR Manager!) WAs told by THE manager that you can only OCCUPY a table if you have 80% of the seating capacity of that table. HEnce, we cannot & not allowed to BOOK the long table cuz despite that we would have 15-20 pple coming... WE CANNOT occupy any table if we failed to meet the 80% sitting capacity requirement)

ok.. hence that manager tried to reason out with me (haha.. mr MANAGER.. i guess you think that LOUD blooming voice would be able to scare me off? Hey sir... if you been through phone calls that pple called and complained and curse and swear at you, your parents.. (for something that you did not do, but due to their non-compliance with the laws).. would i be intimidated by you.. Nah... and yes... is it basic courtesy to cut a person in mid-sentence... I don't think so.. AND.. sir, you claimed to be the manager.. why aren't you even protraying basic courtesy? Cuz we didn't dressed up to the nines?

2. your "lame" explanation that the 2 ladies who took the other long table behind us.. They had made prior reservation. When queried on procedures to make reservation ~ haughtily stated "deposit of $25 pax". [if i had known that their staff told long that no reservation during the festive period.. he would surely be shot Speechless..] funnily.. the two ladies left within 5 minutes after MR manager left. [I wonder why?] Mr Manager... did you tell us the truth.. or just spun a pretty lie to entertain us? AND.. really.. you don't know your staff's full name?

Happily.. I shocked the MAnager when he tried to intimidate me by cutting my sentence shot... cuz i told him "sir. can you let me finish my sentence. It is impolite to cut a person when he or she has yet finish his/her sentence." hey.. my voice may be kiddish.. but me certainly won't be intimidated by him!! and was rather tempted to challenge him .. 80%, so if I come alone, I won't be allowed to sit at a table at all.. cuz the smallest table seats two person..]

Customers always right? Not in the eyes of this MANAGER.. (no wonder his staff protrayed similar attiude.. It runs from the top!]

Excellent SErvice @ a coffeejoint in J8 level one [ NOw I love STARBUCKS even more.. ] Dec 22, 2005
- An order of 3 drinks, a slice of cake, a salad was place with this curly hair Malay guy. Well.. the place ain't exactly crowded but the CHinese, thin, poor attitude beng seemed to be rather s=l=o=w and ya.. creating a line at the drinks pick-up pt. so curly hair malay guy TOOK the receipts of those queueing and gave us a no. stand each, informing ordes would be served to us at our table.
5-10 minutes passed.. the 1st drink served. another 5miutes 2nd drink served with the salad and they took away the no. stand without serving me my drink!!! So i just walked over and asked if my drink was ready. chinese beng talked to me without looking at me and said all the orders were served and asked for my receipt. TOld him that his colleague took it just now.. and that guy didn't seemed convinced (hey, do i need to con for a $6 coffee?) and the lady in black.. *the manager* asked for my receipt.. told her that one of guy had taken it earlier and gave us the stand instead. explained that the stand was taken cuz the orders were served.. [temperature rising.. controlling...] " you can check the table what's being served. I couldn't have possibly HIDE the glass, could i?" when they recalled the order - (all this while the beng looked totally bo*chup and refused to establish eye contact) - and yes realised that they DID indeed forgot the drink.. they merely said they would serve it. (btw the slice of cake that I'd ordered was actually sitting at the counter before I order it.. cuz before i ordered it.. there wasn't any reindeer slice in the cake counter.. and they just gave that to me.. goodness gracious.. i wonder how long it had been sitting there.. and it's rather rubbery... once again.. I thank the curlyhair guy for the excellent service and .. if i have a pen.. I woul comment on the feedback form!

few minutes later.. the lady in black.. the manager.. came and refunded us in full.. am rather shocked... she apologised for their error & hence refunding in full.. actually didn't wanted to take the $ but should not reject blessing.. well.. at least this manager take responsiblity for the errors of her team.. and not shun & defend. customer retention

but I won't want to go back to that outlet for a very long time....... give me a cuppa from starbucks (if given a choice.. kopitiam kopi!) oo.. and not to mention.. happy faces matter.. so if you are serving/ interacting with others.. SMILE!!

I'm not exactly a customer from hell.. treat me nice and I will spread the word around about the truly genuine excellent service...

*Yeah done.. finally..*

thank God history didn't repeat itself.. yah.. hermione's creation managed to churn out the stuff at last minUte.. 6 hours of wOrk.. :)

target.. My faith is now as small as a mustard seed.. But targets are set to be met right!! Amen! (to acheive that.. i must really fast and pray..)

*Christmas Land 2005!!*

*red.. violet red..*

haha.. I didn't get pink streaks. i guess the brown highlights made my hair looked very dry.. hence.. my hairstylist recommended me to colour the wholehead instead of highlights.. violet red..

Result.. well.. it looks rather loud under light.. dull hue of red.. and on the strands that were previously brown... magenta red! haha.. the next best thing to pink i reckon... red.. festive color ma.. for christmas and new year hahaha!

Oh ya.. violet.. moi changed my blogskin last week! :)

prior to my bright color antics.. met cuiqi for sHopping at MNG sale.. bought this girlish skirt which was rather pricey even after discount... but it looked so good.. (am actually wearing it now.. ) and this very glam royal blue (color not easy to match but love the material! ).

had a wacky time with carmen, glenn and max last night.. i guess the mad cow lived to his name last night.. thanks though.. cuz ya.. wacky it may be.. at least it was fun... thanks glenn for sending me to the far east cuz ya.. kinda out of the way...

*Rules and Boundary...*

In this society... you are have to abide by rules and regulations... (yay, respect the authority that GOd has placed over you. Provided it does not conflict with the 1st commandment!)

The rebels would like this.. "Rules(laws) are meant to be broken." [though I don't agree with that. though sometimes you might have stepped on the line.. without realising it! but change is necessary for growth! so.. count the costs!]

Went back to work this morNing. Uncle Cabbie took $15 from me cuz of the volcanic eruption early this morning that only let me rest at 5am. Saw this email circulated by personnel on the new section on blogging..
" On the use of a website or blogging, an officer may create or participate in a blog or other types of online publishing or discussion to share their personal experiences, hobbies, etc. if they do so in their personal capacity, responsibly and in their own time. However, they should be mindful that the Internet is another public forum and they will be personally responsible for what they write. Should an officer be found to have acted irresponsibly and infringe this guideline, disciplinary action may be taken against him/her..."

Oh man.. I'd violated this guideline... cuz I'd compOsed this during the working hour.. so next time.. will do so during my lunch hour then... seriously... the organisation don't owned us.. so why the necessity to get their permission if I want to create a blog in my own capacity...? I guess the norm is that they want to feel that they are in control. Anyway, i reckon the size of my brain not pea size.. and nah.. i won't go against the authority nor blogged about internal procedures.. (hey.. classified is classified ma.. though I see people reading classified documents openly on the MRT!)

Control.. to be in control is a good feeling.. though the one being controlled usually wants to break free... Me? seriously, I don't like to be restrained.. but right now.. I just feel being bound by the way things are..why can't i do the things that i wanted to... gotta see beyond that..yea.. period of waiting... enjoy the process, cuz the fruits will come... (fruits don't ripe instantly...you gotta wait..)

*Volcanic eruption*

At 2am, volcano erupted in pasir ris. What shall i say. New level bigger devil. Was in the midst of doing the appreciatn thingy when the door sprang open. High decibel shootout. Door closed. I off light. Decided to go online to send the pix to carmen b4 zz. 5min later, phone rang. Call frm mom. Cancelld the call. Tried to log off. She came in and refused to bulge until i sleep. Yes, i undrstand her concern abt insufficient sleep. But what infuriate her would be me being overly involved - in her opinion me obessed with church- in church stuff. And too lil time at home.
But i maintained my stand. Its my desire to serve God, and regardless of that, they are still my parents.. Cuz if compromised, sure can't get out.
No matter what, i would not be swayed.
Road ahead gonna be bumpy, but fear not cuz He who is with me is greater than he who is against me.
